Thanksgiving Weekend... Preparing for Christmas

we had a wonderful, relaxing Thanksgiving in Chattanooga. All 3 of us had shared a stomach bug with each other and we needed some time to rest and recuperate. We missed the time with Momma C and Poppy but enjoyed the break and time together.

SG on Thanksgiving morning- I love her turkey shirt!

We had our "Thanksgiving Dinner" at the Chinese Buffett. Probably not the best idea for recovering stomachs- but we were excited to take a break from cooking AND cleaning!

Downtown Chattanooga has a "Grand Illumination" every year for the lights downtown- including a boat parade. It was the first super-cold night so we did not stay for the boats!
this was at the Outdoor Chattanooga building for our Hulsey Thanksgiving with all of the Hulsey aunts, uncles and cousins. I love it when we snap a picture of Marcus and SG and they are making the same expression- they are SO alike!

SG helped decorate the tree this year!

At another Christmas Parade downtown...

Early Fall

I have been pretty bad about posting to the blog lately- we have been busy but having a great time. Sawyer Grace is becoming more and more of her own person. She is chatty and we understand her words more everyday. Somehow in the last couple of months she went from being a baby to a little girl. She is tall and lean, smart and makes her opinions known. She has gone through a stage of biting the other kids in her class when she got frustrated and has now learned how to pitch a little fit if she does not get her way-- they never last long but as soon as we tell her "No" or try to direct her away from the place that she wants to go, she will sortof melt onto the floor and cry for a minute. BUT she seems to bounce back and move to the next thing!

I am posting a few recent pics from the last month or so...

We LOVE Sawyer Grace's red chucks. My friend Emily gave them to me at a shower while I was still pregnant because she remembered that I told her that I have always wanted red boots. The red Chucks are also significant because at Wake Forest all of the sorority girls had Chuck Taylor high tops of the color of their sorority- which means that I had some red high top Chucks that are just like Sawyer Grace's!!

We went for a ride in the Jeep last weekend- this is the perfect season in Chattanooga. It is getting cooler but the sun makes everything so bright. Sawyer Grace loved the drive for the first 20 minutes or so and then got pretty restless. We will have to remember not to go so far the next time!

It should come as no surprise that my daughter would love pasta- she would eat noodles with red sauce everyday if I would let her. Good thing that Marcus is such a great daddy and he takes care of the baths! :)
